Spiced Chai Tea Recipe - Masala Chai



Masala Chai Ingredients:

  • 3 cups water

  • 4 whole cloves

  • 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg

  • 1/8 tsp ground cinnamon

  • 1/8 tsp ground cardamom

  • 1/8 tsp ground turmeric

  • ½ inch piece fresh ginger, chopped

  • 1 tsp or bag black or green tea

  • 1 cup soy, oat, almond or other milk

  • 2 tsp honey, coconut palm sugar, maple syrup or other sweetener

Boil the water with the spices for 2 minutes. Add the tea and simmer for two minutes. Add the milk and heat until hot but not boiling. Add sweetener. Serve right away hot or put in fridge to cool and serve with ice.
